This easy crumble recipe will transform your camping trips

Apple crumble, on the campfire – surely not? But with a little bit of faith and a lot of tin foil, it’s very do-able (and delicious!)

You will need:

  • A roaring campfire
  • Roll of tin foil
  • Sharp knife
  • Small chopping board

Ingredients:

  • 220g flour
  • 100g butter, plus extra for greasing
  • 225g caster sugar
  • 2tsp cinnamon
  • 100g oats
  • 4 apples

Before you go:

• Mix the flour,  1tsp cinnamon and 175g of sugar together in
a mixing bowl. Cube the butter and then add it to the flour.

• Using your fingertips, gently rub the butter into the dry ingredients until it resembles breadcrumbs. Stir in the oats.

• Pour the crumble topping into a zip lock bag and keep cool until ready to use.

• Put the remaining sugar and cinnamon and mix in a separate zip lock bag.
