Les 2 Alpes organised from June 17 to 20 one of the largest bike events in France, kick starting the summer in France notching up their seventh such competition.
The event required a year of work at the Tourist Office of Les 2 Alpes, besides the technical work at D-5 Event: Marking and tracing routes, trail maintenance, planning room, preparing refreshments, tents set up testing, registration and manufacturers… it is one hell of a job.
Despite some inclement weather this year’s event went off. There were 3463 participants in the 2010 edition which, 25,532 passages on the lifts of Les 2 Alpes (because of snow conditions, routes were capped at 2600 meters down to the village of Freney d’Oisans, with a return to the station via the shuttle).
About 180 brands set up shop on 70 stands showcasing mountain bikes, accessories, clothing and board cameras.
There are nearly 8,000 visitors over four days who get to discover the latest trends in the environment, tested the latest equipment and participated in biking with the pros.
Some original additions to this years VTT included “PUBLIC WORK URB’N SLOPESTYLE”. Recalling the concept of the PUBLIC WORK: riders and professionals worked to produce a SLOPESTYLE course with jumps, features and even and a suspended bus?
