Located in the heart of the French Alps, with the backdrop of the stunning Bellecôte Glacier, La Plagne offers a fantastic range of summer activities, events and experiences. New this summer is the 6D Trek bringing walking fans of all levels an incredible tour of the region on foot.
The name “6D Trek” refers to the legendary 6000D, the trail running event that is held every year at the end of July. The Ultra 6000D was created to mark the 20th anniversary. Until now, its 110 kms and 4295 metres of height gain were reserved for the trained elitist athletes.
This summer, La Plagne opens this course to a wider public by marking it with permanent signposts. This new long-distance ramble of three to seven days is accessible to all with no particular technical difficulties.
Stage after stage, from an altitude of 659 metres to 2586 metres, the route allows you to explore the villages of la Plagne (Aime, Plagne-Montalbert, Aime la Plagne, Plagne-Centre, Plagne Villages/Soleil, Champagny en Vanoise, Belle-Plagne, Plagne-Bellecôte, Montchavin-les Coches).
The route forms a circuit which allows you to start where you choose. There is also a choice of landscapes, walking along ridges at the beginning of the course and along forest trails on the Montchavin side. Passing through the Vanoise National Park enables nature lovers to rub shoulders with chamois and marmots with glaciers as a backdrop.
