The North Face were a supporting sponsor of Mountain Mayhem which took place on 17-19th June at Eastnor Castle Deer Park in Herefordshire.
The 24hr prestigious mountain bike event saw over 2000 people compete in changeable weather conditions. The torrential rain prior to the event made the nine-mile hilly course quite challenging, although it did dry out as the race progressed.
The North Face sponsored athlete Rob Dean was competing in the solo category but had to withdraw after five laps, placed in the top 10, due to a shoulder injury he picked up prior to the event.
Sharon Bianchi, Marketing Controller for The North Face who competed in the sport mixed category commented:
‘This is the first year we have been involved with Mountain Mayhem and we’ve been blown away by the organisation of the event, the enthusiasm of both the competitors and spectators, and the overwhelming interest in our bikewear range.
“We have gained great product feedback which will be forwarded on to Sven Mostogl, product manager - Action Sports, who also competed in the event. Our 2 Metre Dome tent also proved popular, where we were showcasing our product range and giving away towels which proved very useful in the showers!
“We are very much looking forward to supporting the event again next year, which truly proved to be a pure and authentic outdoor weekend.”
