An opportunity to discuss sustainability
The parties set out from the Mammut Anniversary Base Camp on the Jungfraujoch (3,471 m), where 150 red tents made up the base camp for the twofold jubilee expedition. While the VIP summiteers tackled the descent, Mammut used the Anniversary Base Camp to stage a panel discussion on the issue of “Sustainable Alpinism”. The debate was chaired by the well-known Munich TV journalist and mountaineer Michael Pause. Speakers were scientists, journalists and mountaineers from Germany and Switzerland.
