Thule receives Green Dot Award for sustainable product development

Bike, Gear — By OAGmag on March 20, 2012 at 12:40 pm

The innovative Thule WingBar has received an Honourable Mention in the prestigious Green Dot Awards, an award that is given to companies that practice excellence in environmental responsibility. With its slender shape and noiseless design, Thule WingBar sets a new standard for quietness, safety and sustainability in the growing market for roof racks.

Thule WingBar

The awarded Thule WingBar has been developed by Thule’s design team and tested in Thule’s specially built Thule Aerolab in order to obtain the most efficient air and weight capacities possible. The result is a roof rack that is nearly noiseless and can be mounted on all cars. Thule WingBar is also designed to generate 55% less drag than previous models, which makes it the most sustainable roof rack on the market. “The last couple of years we have intensified our efforts to develop produce, and distribute products with reduced environmental impact from a product lifecycle perspective. To receive an Honourable Mention in Green Dot Awards is fantastic, and it really proves that our efforts have been acknowledged. This also pushes us to keep creating innovative products that are safe, secure, stylish and sustainable,” says Greger Juhlin, Vice President Product Development at Thule.
