Lightwave Fastpack rucksack

Gear, Packs — By Outdoor Adventure Guide on May 16, 2012 at 3:44 pm

Lightwave Fastpack - RRP £99Lightwave-fastpack

This rucksack is ideal for winter trips or lightweight weekend hiking – the aluminium stays inside the frame offer great support, even when fully-loaded to its maximum 40L capacity. (NB: It’s unisex and one size only, so this may not suit small people.)

The padded shoulder straps offer comfort and additional support, along with the wide padded cut-away waistband. The unique selling point of the Lightwave Fastpack is that the rucksack body and lid are completely waterproof, with its taped seams and waterproof zip.

The main compartment fastens with a drawcord and houses a bladder slip pocket. A bungee drawcord on top of the lid offers a quick stowing solution for a waterproof or helmet. In addition there are two pole/axe loops.

This is a fairly minimalist pack with a lot of capacity, stripped of unnecessary features and clutter that might add weight. However, for some users it may lack some useful details, like pockets on the waistband.
