First impressions: A good-looking technical approach shoe with an obvious alpine pedigree from this Swiss company. Close fitting and and the top-to toe-lacing has a very alpine feel to it. The sole is good and sticky and has a stiff feel to it too and performed particularly well on rock ascents. The Mammut Base Fit lacing transfers power to the soles and slipping in the boot. Elastic tongue in the form of a sock allows easy entry and ensures a good snug fit. An abrasion-resistant PA fabric ensure water resistance.
FABRIC Suede
FIT Sock style, close-fitting
SOLE Grip X, Cougapproach
OAG Likeys Great looking shoe, excellent lacing system ensuring really good fit
OAG No Likeys Only two small gripes the sole was not aligned correctly on the left shoe and personally I’d prefer red and black the same as the men’s rather than pink trim
Overall Great looking shoe and a nimble athletic fit. For looks and performance this shoe would make it into my rucksack behind the Asolo.
