BCB Crusader Cooker review

Camp, Camping — By Outdoor Adventure Guide on July 2, 2012 at 12:35 pm

BCB’s Crusader II Cooking Systems includes some neat touches which will be welcomed by outdoor enthusiasts.

The system uses a ‘Russian Doll’ design whereby all the cooking gear you will need in the field, (Cup Canteen, Cooker, Water bottle, flint and striker) slot inside each other and fit snugly inside a standard issue PLCE bottle pouch for ease of transport and use.

BCB Crusader Cooker

The Hard Anodised Aluminium cup which doubles as a cooking pot now sports an insulated rim to prevent unwelcome lip burn. To speed up boil time and reduce the smoke it gives off, the cooker has a wind shield and heat exchanger.

By using hard anodised aluminium, BCB have managed to make the new Crusader Cooking System 138 grams lighter than its predecessor, something that will be a welcome relief for trekkers who are already saddled with a significant amount of kit they have to lumber around while out in the great outdoors.

These are great systems - they burn ethanol gel and heat water about as quickly as a trangia. In an emergency you can use firelighters - they’re smelly and make a mess, but as I said they work if you run out of ethanol gel. Jim

      Thank you for answering me.
I’ve checked it and it seems that none of them have it. If you have any other information please share.

yep no one has them yet they have been designing them and patenting them forever, Still can only get type 1 crusader system.
Website not very helpful in comparison to the full dealer catalogues
Hope they don’t leave it too long!

It would appear that the Crusader 2 kit is still NOT AVAILABLE from all of the sites listed as BCB Equipment Stockists. So either they are having problems with manufacturing the kit, OR are they dropping it? It seems to have taken forever so far!!!!!!

I am realiably informed that this piece of kit should be available from May 2014.
