Win a Mountain Hardwear Quasar Hybrid Pullover worth £250
News, Win — By Outdoor Adventure Guide on April 30, 2014 at 1:46 amThis is the jacket that speed-climber Ueli Steck wore during his award-winning, 28 hour ascent of Annapura in the Himalayas (read more in issue 124 of OAG). And if it’s good enough for Ueli, it’s more than good enough for us.
The Quasar Hybrid pullover is a next-to-weightless jacket built with ice and rock climbing in mind. But there’s an impressive amount of tech built into 235g of jacket.
For starters, it’s incredibly waterproof, yet will never clam up. This is down to Dry Q Elite technology, which – unlike your average waterproof material – doesn’t need humidity to trigger breathability, it just ushers moisture out from the offset. Very clever. Every detail works to keep the weather out and the wearer happy; the hoods and cuffs have a drysuit style seal (ain’t nothing getting in there) while the low profile hood sits happily under a helmet and seals around the face to protect you from the elements.
It’s incredibly comfortable too, with articulated arms and stretch insets making for excellent freedom of movement and mobility. Meanwhile that deep, waterproof zip means you can regulate your heat with a one-handed tug. For a chance to win just fill in the form below by 2nd July 2014.
